NBA hopeful linked to gun murder scores 41 points while fans chant ‘lock him up’
NBA draft hopeful and Alabama star Brandon Miller was taunted relentlessly by fans chanting “lock him up” on Wednesday night when the Crimson Tide took on South Carolina.
Just a day before Miller dropped a 41 point performance against the Gamecocks, police confirmed it was the 20-year-old who provided ex-teammate Darius Miles with a gun used to shoot and kill 23-year-old mother Jamea Harris.
Led by Miller, Alabama won the contest 78-76, with the forward scoring the game winning basket.

Throughout the course of the evening, Miller was subjected to relentless chants of “lock him up” anytime he touched the ball.
But those chants did not seem to phase the potential NBA hopeful, who dropped 41 points on South Carolina to help the Crimson Tide win their SEC matchup.
However, many fans were left questioning whether he should have even been allowed to play, given his connection to the murder of Harris.

After giving ex-Bama teammate Miles the gun in question, he and friend Michael Davis got into an altercation with Harris, which led to her being killed. Both Miles and Davis are now facing capital murder charges.
Prior to the game against South Carolina, Alabama’s Athletic department defended their decision to play Miller, stating “Based on all the information we have received, Brandon Miller is not considered a suspect in this case, only a cooperative witness.”
Miller, a five star recruit out of high school, is thought to be held in high regard amongst NBA draft circles, and could be an early 2023 lottery pick selection.
