Newcastle coach to Wembley overtakes Sunderland fans on motorway with inevitable outcome
Newcastle fans travelling to Wembley bumped into rival Sunderland fans on the motorway – and the outcome was inevitable.
The Toon Army were en route to London to soak up the atmosphere ahead of the Magpies League Cup final clash with Manchester United on Sunday. And their clash with the Black Cat supporter’s on the motorway was the perfect way to fire them up ahead of the match.
As they encroached on the capital, the coach filled with Toon supporters spotted the Sunderland bus stocked up with their rivals, setting the stage for a hostile few minutes between the bitter foes. With the coach edging closer, the amped-up Toon fans started spewing ‘f*** off’ barbs towards the Sunderland coach amid a slew of other inaudible slurs in the clip.

And when the two coaches drew parallel, both sets of supporters hurled lewd hand signs at each other, making their disdain for one another clear. But they didn’t get to trade insults for too long as the Newcastle coach sped past their foes’ bus that was draped in Sunderland flags.
It was the most action the Black Cat fans saw on Saturday following their team’s 2-1 loss to Coventry. Meanwhile, Newcastle have the chance to gain bragging rights over their rivals if they manage to see off United in the final tomorrow.

The rowdy bunch of Toon fans were off to link up with the rest of the 32,761 ticket holders who were in the capital ahead of the match. Newcastle’s faithful swarmed Trafalgar Square in their thousands on Saturday and made their presence felt.
Swathes of supporters could be seen hurling flags and banners, whilst others stripped down to frolic in the water fountain. And another section of the Toon Army climbed monuments in the square as they emphatically chanted with each other ahead of the looming final.
