Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford says his elbow has ‘no limitations’
Los Angles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has said his injured right elbow has ‘no limitations’ ahead of Thursday’s NFL season opener.
The reigning Super Bowl champions open their season against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.
Stafford, who played through pain in his right elbow last season and received an injection for the injury, did not throw during spring workouts and was put on a throwing schedule during training camp.

‘I feel good. I’m ready to go. No limitations… I feel great. I’m ready to go play,’ Stafford said, via ESPN.
‘Can always be better. Can always try to feel like I’m 21 again. I’ll keep trying. But no, I feel really good. I feel like I can make every throw.’
Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters that the plan to manage Stafford’s elbow throughout the season would be ‘no different,’ than the one they followed last year.
He would go on to further state that he feels confident in the way Stafford has looked, and he is not worried about the elbow.

‘I tell you what, he’s throwing the ball excellent,’ McVay said. ‘And he feels good. Everything that I’m seeing is reflective of everything he’s saying to me. And so I feel really good about that.’
Stafford also stated that he has been ‘been doing some things that have made [his elbow] feel better,’ and that he would continue doing them throughout the season if he felt it was needed.
McVay and Stafford are coming off a season that saw them lead the Rams to a Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, and surely intend to chase another Lombardi Trophy.
When asked if that means eventually asking Stafford and his elbow to throw the ball 50 or more times in a game, McVay said ‘no hesitation.’
