Is this the worst wedding guest EVER? Woman slammed for wearing bridal gown to her friend’s big day

Is this the worst wedding guest EVER? Woman slammed for wearing a bridal dress she originally bought for her own nuptials to her friend’s big day

A woman has been slammed online after wearing a dress she originally purchased for her own nuptials to a friend’s wedding.

The recent bride, who is believed to be from the US, was slammed on Reddit after a commenter shared snaps of her advert selling the gown.

The online ad showcased a chic white floor length gown by British designer Alice Temperley with lace sleeves and a split up the leg.

Next to a snap of the dress for sale, the Redditor commented: ‘Seller openly admits to wearing a wedding dress as a guest.’

In the description, the seller wrote: ‘Wore this once recently as a guest to a wedding (pictured, with my husband) and got so many compliments.

‘It has since been professionally dry-cleaned. I originally bought it to be my wedding dress, but was outvoted by my mom who wanted me in something more traditional.

‘Would work great as a special occasion gown or as a wedding dress for an edgier bride. The back is STUNNING.’

The designer’s Hemingway dress was listed for sale at $200 after being marked down from $345.

It’s unknown how the bride reacted to the wardrobe choice, but some Redditors were angry on her behalf.

One person wrote: ‘I can just picture this as a posting in AITA which this chick clueless about why the bride was upset and how it wasn’t her intention to take any attention away from the bride.’

Another said: ‘I’m betting that the compliments were along the lines of ‘How brave of you!’ and ‘That’s really bold of you!’, and the like. Which is why she thinks this dress is ‘edgy.’

While someone else wrote: ‘Her mom wanted her to have a more traditional wedding dress instead of that??? That dress looks basic and therefore traditional [as f**k]???

‘How can you get more ‘traditional’ than that? I have so many questions lol.’

While others suggested maybe the bride requested that guests wear white to her big day.

One person wrote: ‘TBF though, some brides don’t care what colour is being worn and some even specifically want the wedding to be black and white.

‘I’ve once been to a wedding where the bride invited everyone who has married before to wear their wedding dresses.

‘It was a confusing wedding because we weren’t at the ceremony, only at the reception and I only knew the groom (distant family) and didn’t know which one was the bride for the first 10 minutes.’

Another wrote: ‘I’ve just been invited to a wedding where the no-go color is ‘salmon pink’, any other color (incl white) is okay/appreciated. It happens, so maybe that was the case? But yeah it sure doesn’t look good.’

Someone else wrote: ‘I had a friend ask for white, cream or linen. I must have asked her a million times, are you sure??? Then sent her a pic of my dress. (More bridesmaid-y than bridal, but still, white?).

‘She said I looked great and it was perfect, but I was being told congratulations when I went to DB for my fitting so I started freaking out all over again.

‘It was exactly what she wanted and her pictures are stunning but she must have brought 100’s of extra text messages on herself by all her friends before we all committed to the dress code!’

While a fourth wrote: ‘Unless the party was an ‘everyone wear white’ sort of wedding, or she lives somewhere where white isn’t the bride’s colour, then she was beyond rude.’
