Woolworths Metro IT system crashes across Australia, chaos in supermarkets

An IT glitch at Australia’s biggest supermarket chain has been thrown frustrated after-work shoppers into chaos.

Cashiers have been unable to process the groceries of customers at several Woolworths’ Metro stores and in some cases have had to close outlets.

The supermarket giant’s point-of-sale systems are not working correctly and shoppers cannot complete their purchases.

Daily Mail Australia approached Woolworths for comment.
