Kylian Mbappe and Neymar ‘settle feud after Luis Campos called PSG duo in for crunch talks

PSG stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have reportedly settled their bitter feud after crunch talks with sporting director Luis Campos.

The two have been in a public battle since their side’s 5-2 win over Montpellier on Saturday, which saw the forwards argue over who should take PSG’s second penalty.

It resulted in Neymar liking a series of tweets criticising his team-mate, but Le Paisien suggest the tension has now been squashed following a meeting with Campos.

The dispute arose during the game when an argument on the pitch surfaced over who should take the penalty.

Mbappe had missed from the spot earlier in the game and, when Neymar went to take a second spot kick, the French forward wanted to take that one too.

Neymar eventually won the battle and scored, but Mbappe was visibly angry and showed a sour attitude throughout the game.

Neymar then took the battle to social media, liking posts that included a suggestion that Mbappe has the right to take penalties embedded into his new mega contract at the club.

Via Get French Football News, both players agreed at the end of the meeting that the incident was over.

Neymar reportedly made it clear that he was confused with his role now being second-choice penalty taker in the team.

Mbappe was reportedly given the role of penalty taker for the game, so felt he should have taken the second despite missing the first.

But it has been suggested that the 23-year-old has been dealing with personal issues in the last week, which may have been a factor in his reaction to Neymar stepping up for the second spot kick.

The forward was also shown to be visibly bothered by Vitinha not passing to him during one attack, refusing to join the play and instead standing still by the touchline.

Campos and manager Christophe Galtier are said to have told the pair to deal with any issues going forward off the pitch and away from cameras.
