Missing child Alex Batty hiked 4 days by way of mountains to get UK ID

A Brit teen lacking for six years had hiked by way of mountains for 4 days after escaping from a French commune.

Alex Batty managed to ditch the compound his mom and grandfather are believed to have taken him to after a vacation in Marbella again in 2017. Six years later and the now 17-year-old was mentioned to have hiked by way of the mountains in a quest to come up with a UK ID card.

He was noticed by a supply driver climbing by way of the Pyrenees, and it’s now believed Alex trudged on within the hopes of shifting to Canada to pursue a profession working with computer systems.

The 17-year-old has since been reunited together with his grandmother and authorized guardian Susan Caruana, who has mentioned she is relieved to have her cherished one again after so lengthy.

It is claimed Alex had been dwelling in a distant vacation cottage in La Bastide, a commune in France which the kid was taken to by his mum Melanie, 43, and grandad David, 64, in 2021.

Moving to the commune after what was imagined to be a week-long journey to Marbella on the Costa del Sol, Alex, who was identified to commune residents as Zach, is now again within the UK.

Frédéric Hambye and Ingrid Beauve lived with Alex throughout his time on the commune, and mentioned the teen had instructed them of his intention to return to the UK, The Sun reported.

In a submit to the Gite de La Bastide Facebook web page, they alleged: “You may have met Zach and found that he was part of the family, that he had plans to study computer science and work in Canada.

“He was desirous to go to high school and get again to a standard life and for that, he wanted his ID, which he instructed us he now not had.

“When we learned that he did not have an ID, we offered to drive him to the British Consulate. He told us that he would find a way to return to the UK on his own to get new papers and go back to school. To this end, he told us, he left on December 10 to join his mother.”

Alex has since been reunited with grandmother Susan, with a supply saying: “All Susan has ever wanted was to see and hold Alex again. She last saw him as a boy so it was a bit of a shock to welcome him back as a strapping 17-year-old. But the minute she saw him she knew it was him and they held each other tightly and the tears flowed.”
