Neal Maupay’s second-half strike earned Everton their first league win of the campaign, as Frank Lampard’s side held on to beat West Ham 1-0 at Goodison Park.
The Frenchman fired the Toffees ahead in the 53rd minute to score his first for the club following his £15million move from Brighton this summer.
Substitute Said Benrahma struck the woodwork from a long-ranged effort as West Ham searched for an equaliser, but Everton held on to climb to 13th in the division.
