Brits set for 40 hours of continuous rain after Met Office climate warnings
Britain is bracing itself to be battered by 40 hours of continuous rain, with Met Office climate warnings now in place.
Wednesday (February 7_ has been tipped to usher in moist climate which isn’t set to finish till Friday (February 9), with London and areas across the capital more likely to be hit with a relentless drip from gloomy skies. From the early hours of Wednesday to Friday night, the climate within the UK may look horrendously poor with showers predicted, bringing on potential floods, journey delays and a number of depressing circumstances.
Though there may be nonetheless “some uncertainty” over the forecasts, the Met Office has predicted some “colder midweek” spells for the nation, notably within the capital. A spokesperson mentioned: “[It will be] mild, cloudy and windy Tuesday, culminating in a period of rain into early Wednesday. [It will become] fine but colder midweek with eventual sunny spells, ahead of a wetter and windier Thursday.”

Rains might be at their heaviest on Thursday, with heavy showers anticipated and Brits now bracing themselves for a nasty interval of grim climate. Separate yellow warnings for rain are already in place till 9pm on Monday (February 5), the Daily Star beforehand reported.
Further forecasts for the remainder of February proved simply as disappointing for these hoping for sunnier skies. Their forecast reads: “Although there is still some uncertainty, conditions seem most likely to be drier and more settled overall for much of the UK with lighter winds mainly from the north or northwest but [there is potential for some stronger winds at times later on.
“This would increase the likelihood of colder conditions developing more widely for a time with potential for fog and notable frosts alongside wintry showers across the north/northwest or more widely as any isolated fronts move through later in the period.”
Netweather experiences confirmed the worrying updates for London, with their service weblog predicting “disruptive weather” for the top of the week. It learn: “Fronts will push in from the south-west on Thursday, introducing rain and milder air to England and Wales”.
Said climate woes are “likely to result in some significant rainfall totals across a region of England and Wales, most likely the Midlands, northern England and north Wales, which could lead to some problems with flooding.”
