Gary Neville slams Glazers’ part sale of Man Utd as ‘totally unacceptable’

Gary Neville has torn into the Glazers over their part sale of Manchester United to US business Apollo, branding it “totally unacceptable”.

The Red Devils legend latest criticism comes amid claims that the Old Trafford supremos are set to put a stake of the club up for sale. Fans are furious with the controversial owners while United have had a disastrous start to the season.

Two defeats in two in the Premier League have left them bottom of the table while transfers have proved difficult to come by despite Erik ten Hag’s pleas. The Dutchman wanted more signings by now but only has Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.

And the latest reports indicate that the Glazers are looking to sell a stake of United to US private equity firm Apollo with talks already underway. However, Neville has denounced the plans and is only advocating a full sale.

He tweeted: “If the reports are true that the Glazer Family are ready to part sell ahead of a full sale it’s totally unacceptable that this is to a US investment fund. Apollo have been mentioned but they need to know they will not be welcomed in Manchester.
