A letter from the New York Police Department’s chief of intelligence to the Metropolitan Police dated December 6, 2023, confirmed there was a “thorough review” of the chase and “security posture” would should be modified.
The letter, reported by the Daily Beast, learn: “We found the following: reckless disregard of vehicle and traffic laws and persistently dangerous and unacceptable behaviour on the part of the paparazzi during the night in question.
“The people operated automobiles, scooters, and bicycles in a fashion that compelled the safety staff, which included an NYPD Lead Car, to take evasive actions on a number of events and a circuitous path to keep away from being struck by pursuing automobiles or trapped on facet blocks.”

The briefing, printed immediately (Wednesday, February 28), confirmed there was “sufficient evidence” to arrest two folks concerned within the automotive chase. The letter added: “Our conclusion, upon review with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, is that we have sufficient evidence to arrest two individuals for reckless endangerment.”
A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry on the time of the incident confirmed the couple and Meghan’s mom had been pursued by a “ring of highly aggressive” paparazzi.
Their consultant mentioned: “This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”
