Casemiro is set to MISS Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Liverpool
Manchester United are set to run out of time to get Casemiro registered by midday on Friday so that he can be eligible to face Liverpool on Monday night.
The Brazilian star is set for a move to the Red Devils from Real Madrid after the clubs agreed a £60m fee for the 30-year-old.
However, United face a race against time if they want him to make his debut against their fierce rivals, with Premier League rules stating that for players to play in the top flight this weekend, they have to be registered by midday Friday.
Casemiro is in line to complete a £60million move to Manchester United from Real Madrid
It comes after Casemiro told Real Madrid on Wednesday evening that he wished to move to Erik ten Hag‘s team after nine glorious years in the Spanish capital.
It will be a huge ask for United to ensure Casemiro can feature at Old Trafford, as he is only due to have his medical this weekend ahead of signing a four-year deal.
Even if United miss the midday deadline, United are hopeful of completing a move by Monday with a delegation having travelled to the Spanish captial earlier this week to start advanced negotiations over a move.
Casemiro is unlikely to be available to face Liverpool on Monday night for Manchester United
Casemiro’s arrival is set to give Ten Hag a huge boost with United having endured their worst start to a league season for 30 years.
An opening day 2-1 defeat by Brighton at home was followed by a humiliating 4-0 loss at Brentford to leave them bottom of the table.
Already the Monday night clash looks like being a big one for both teams, with Liverpool also chasing a first win of the season following two draws that has seen them already fall four points behind in the title race.
