Met Office UK climate map warns the place and when torrential rain will wreak chaos

The UK’s brief heatwave is set to be disrupted by potential flooding and travel chaos, as the Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for heavy rain across large parts of the country.

This is a stark contrast to the blistering temperatures enjoyed by many Brits this weekend, with Sunday seeing the highest temperature of the year so far. However, weather experts predict that the coming week will bring much milder conditions, with wet weather expected to cause travel disruption and possible flooding.

The Met Office has issued three yellow warnings for rain starting today. The first will affect Wales and the South West of England, Mirror reports.

According to the weather agency, there is a possibility of flooding in some homes and businesses, and spray and flooding on roads will likely extend journey times. Bus and train services are also likely to be impacted with longer travel times expected, reports the Mirror.

The second weather warning for heavy rain covers Swansea and Cardiff in Wales. It comes into effect at 8am and will last until just before midnight.

According to Met Office forecasters, a band of rain will sweep into southern and western parts of the UK today, with showers likely across northern Scotland. As the week progresses, temperatures are predicted to fall closer to the average, but cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester can expect drier and sunnier weather, with temperatures lingering at 18-19C.
