AC Milan icon seems to tear hamstring when imitating a deal with on nationwide TV
The former AC Milan and Italy legend Alessandro Costacurta was left in agony after his attempt to imitate a tackle on live TV went embarrassingly, and painfully, wrong.
Costacurta, 58, played 663 times for the Rossoneri throughout a stunning one-club career where he won five European Cups and Champions League trophies, seven Serie A titles and six domestic cups.
But it seems that time hasn’t been kind to the former defender after he was left grimacing in pain during the coverage of Milan’s win against Cagliari for Sky Italia after he had attempted to demonstrate what a Cagliari player should have done in the build-up to Ismael Bennacer’s opening goal.

During the analysis, Costacurta started the clip by standing on the left side of the viewer’s screens before he burst into a sprint across the front of the highlights and performed a flying kick with his right leg, as he attempted to show the defender on the line what he should have done to clear away Bennacer’s effort.
However, the 59-time Italian’s smile was wiped clear from his face as he immediately held the back of his leg in the area of his hamstring after landing from his flamboyant clearance demonstration.

The former defender, affectionately known as ‘Billy’ due to his slim build and time playing basketball for Olimpia Milano, could be seen looking around with an anguished look on his face and unable to move as the coverage drew to a close and the screen changed away from the injured Italian.
But the Milan legend had reason to smile as he watched his old side run out comfortable 5-1 winners and secure 2nd place in Serie A.
Costacurta has been a staple of Sky Italia’s coverage as a pundit since 2010 after a short foray in management following the end of his playing days in 2007 saw an ill-fated stint at Serie B side Mantova between October 2008 and February 2009.
