Protesters exterior Iran’s London embassy have fun demise of Raisi

Iranian dissidents gathered outside Tehran’s London embassy on Saturday to protest a candlelit vigil to mourn President Ebrahim Raisi, who died last week in a helicopter crash.

Organisers were attacked by supporters of the Iranian regime while protesting a service held in Wembley on Friday evening, which resulted in four being hospitalised and one arrest.

Almost 100 activists were cordoned off by a strong police presence outside the embassy in Kensington last night. The protest remained peaceful and no major incidents occurred.

Demonstrators danced to the song ‘Helikopter’ in celebration of the death of the death Raisi, 63, branded the ‘Butcher of Tehran‘ for his mass executions of thousands in the 1988.

One of the dissidents, Ellie Borhan, was sent to hospital on Friday night after she was attacked by supporters of the Islamic Republic outside the Dewan Al-Kafeel centre, in an office block on Alperton Lane, Wembley.

She attended the protest on Saturday to show the world that ‘Raisi is to us is like Hitler or Saddam Hussein’ as she claimed he had blood on his hands for his tyrannical killing of innocents.

A phone stolen from a friend of Ms Borhan’s by one of the attackers on Friday has been located with the Find My Phone app to the Iranian Embassy in South Kensington, she claimed, indicating the attackers may be connected with the regime.

Anti-government protesters gathered outside the venue in Wembley on Friday and were met by pro-government supporters, who then attacked them, according to witnesses.

The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene outside the Dewan Al-Kafeel centre at 6.21pm that evening following reports of a disorder.

Officers and Met resources attended and were joined by paramedics, who treated four people for non-life threatening or life-changing injuries. One man was also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, the force said.

Speaking to MailOnline, Ms Borhan, the founder of activist group Stage of Freedom, said that the pro-government individuals had ‘tactics’ to attack them on Friday night.

After they went for her banner, which showed victims of the Iranian regime, she told them to get off it before several people started punching her, she claims.

‘They were hitting me,’ she said. ‘They opened the gate – more people came out from that area to come and get us.

‘The guy who came out he was punching my face, head and body then he kicked me and said “we are gonna’ kill you”.

‘I said, “here in the UK you are threatening to kill me?”

‘He tried to grab my phone and he was punching me and kicking me.’

She said that at one point three or four people were throwing punches at her and a female friend of hers who had been knocked to the floor was being kicked.

Ms Borhan had to be taken to hospital to deal with her injuries but fortunately none were serious. She sustained bruising and damage to her feet, and she says it hurts to walk right now.

She was given an X-ray and discharged from hospital when scans showed no broken bones.

At Saturday evening’s protest, people claimed they were attending in response to Friday night’s attack and to make their views known about their hatred of the Iranian regime.

Protesters were carrying photos of Raisi’s victims and were making chants demanding that the UK put the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the list of terrorist organisations.

Many protesters were also carrying toy and inflatable helicopters and dancing with them.

Later in the evening photos of Raisi were burned by protesters, which police had previously warned could lead to arrest for a public order offence. However, no arrests were made.
