Barcelona are facing difficulties in officially registering new coach Hansi Flick due to continued financial problems at the club, according to reports.
The former Bayern Munich and German national team head coach was appointed as the new Barca boss on Wednesday after the club decided to sack former dugout chief Xavi in a bizarre turn of events.
Xavi had previously announced his intentions to leave his post in January before U-turning on his original decision at the club’s desperate request, but was then sacked following a disagreement.
Board members then moved quick to bring Flick to the Nou Camp and the former Champions League winning coach signed a two year contract, but he still hasn’t been registered with LaLiga as reported by Marca.
This is not the first time Barcelona have faced difficulties in registering players and staff in recent seasons caused by financial issues, with several first-team stars previously having to wait to be given a shirt number.

The Catalan club have previously encountered problems in registering new players as well
Former Bayern Munich and Germany head coach Flick signed a two year contract at Barcelona on Wednesday
They previously activated a series of economic levers that involved selling off some future broadcasting and image rights in exchange for cash injections from buyers.
Barcelona initially sold 49 per cent of ‘Barca Studios’ to investors at the time when they were in their worst financial crisis two years ago and have considered taking drastic action in selling part of the club to private individuals.
They are still waiting on an £85.5m payment from Libero who bought the 49 per cent of ‘Barca Studios’ at the time, while a similar priced deal with kit supplier Nike is expected to be announced as well.
Both payments are expected to go directly into addressing the financial crisis that is stopping Flick, his backroom staff and new prospective players being registered.
President Joan Laporta has attempted to provide calm in uncertain times by making assurances that new players will be recruited, but further cash injections are needed to do so.

Barcelona also need to reduce their wage bill to fall in-line with the LaLiga’s spending rules.
Former manager Xavi explained during his final match in charge that his replacement would ‘suffer’ due to the financial restraints the club are attempting to operate in.
‘To the new manager, I tell you: You will suffer.’ He said after Barca’s 2-1 win over Sevilla. ‘This is a difficult job and you have to be patient.’
He added: ‘I think that our work has not been appreciated enough. I took over when the team was in ninth place, finished the season in second place, and won the league the next season.’
