England followers’ Benidorm hot-spot dubbed ‘hellhole’ however a pint is just £1.27

Benidorm will be packed to the brim with Brits come Sunday as England fans will jet abroad for £1.27 pints to watch the Euros 2024.

Talks of ‘buckets of lager’ and massive outdoor screens erected in the 27C heat have convinced people to ditch their local and make the 900-mile pilgrimage to the Costa Blanca hotspot.

After we had a chat with Benidorm’s very own (unofficial) King of Benidorm, Nigel Pope, he gave us the lowdown on what pubs will be the best spot for England fans to watch the Euros

The British Benidorm resident of seven years told us: “The English fans will undoubtedly drink more than most Spanish, although recently I have seen a lot more Spanish who have been drinking more than usual.

Tour guide and TikTok sensation Nigel ‘King of Benidorm’ Pope shared that a cheap pint pub is popular with England fans…

“Many places are starting to offer bucket deals on lager, some offering freebies that the Suppliers have given them.”

And one of those hotspots is The Railway, says Nigel – who boasts 47,000 TikTok followers for his Benidorm tour guides.

Described as a “total hellhole” by one unhappy punter on TripAdvisor, the Railway Bar is still a popular haunt to many.

Offering both a sports bar and club experience, it looks like fans will be getting the best of both worlds.

The England match on in one room and a woman stripping off on a bull (not a real one) in the other, quite the big day out!

The Railway isn’t hard to miss thanks to the massive train stuck on the front of the building, hence the name presumably.

It sticks to the train sports bar theme with arch designs throughout the interior and a sign reading “please mind the gap between your life and your dreams” (whatever that means).

In the daytime, you can nab two pints for just €3(£2.53) – or €1.50 (£1.27) per pint – which is nothing compared to the average £5.17 per pint back home.

And fans can watch the footy on a huge outdoor screen in the sunny weather.

As well as priding themselves on being a sports bar, after dark they welcome Taylor Swift and Oasis(although not the real deals) to provide live music.

After that, the place is turned into a bustling club where partygoers can give the bucking bronco a ride or appreciate the fishnet-clad dancers on the podium.

But, while one aghast punter penned it as a “total hellhole”, another was taken aback by the bar and what it had to offer…

A TripAdvisor user said: “We passed this bar on the way to the square. There was a huge screen showing a football game and it was very busy. They have a mechanical bull at the side of the bar nearest to the square.

“A woman was sat on it and proceeded to strip off all her clothes from the waist up!! I assume it was a woman trying to attract her partner’s attention away from the football!

“Not the bar’s fault as they can’t watch all their customers’ behaviour, but it certainly made me want to avoid the place.”

Despite claims of women sitting on a bucking bronco half-naked, other football fans deem it suitable enough for their fiancée – and 11-year-old son.

Stumbling upon The Railway on their first trip to Benidorm, the dad was impressed with a “great screen” and “lots of people enjoying themselves.”

He wrote: “Came here for the football match on a night with my fiancée and my 11yr old lad, was a bit unsure as first time in Benidorm and on the main strip.

“But, all I can say is fantastic bar, great screen, great drinks and no hassle at all, music was on inside and lots of people enjoying themselves.”

It comes after Benidorm has been revealed to be attracting England fans in their hoards. Many have taken to social media to express their reasons for flying out to Spain.

Englishmen and women are “buzzing” to get on their flight to Benidorm so they cheer on the squad away from pricy pubs and extremely wet weather.

Nigel has said that it’s the place to be to watch the championship.

He told us: “Benidorm will be an amazing place to watch the Euros.

“The main reason is the sun should be shining and most screens are outside, so the fans will feel so much happier sitting or standing around in the hot sunshine and enjoying the games.”
