People solely simply realising why they recognise Reform Deputy Leader, David Bull
If, like many people in the country, you were left wondering what’s so familiar about Reform deputy leader, David Bull – fear not, social media has the answer.
It turns out the politician is none other than the doctor from CBBC’s Newsround way back when. He later went on become a regular face on children’s TV going on to present TV shows including Tomorrow’s World and Most Haunted before becoming an author and politician.
It was X user, @fairycakes that joined the dots in a post that was viewed 63.4k times that read: “Sorry, the doctor from Newsround is the deputy leader of Reform??”

One commented: “I preferred him when he hung out with Yvette Fielding debunking ghosts.”
Another added: “AAAH I KNEW I RECOGNISED HIM FROM SOMEWHERE,” as one agreed adding: I *knew* the name rang a bell last night but couldn’t place it. Thank you.”
“I was shouting this, amongst other things, at the TV last night,” said another.
While one simply commented: “Sorry WHAT?!?!”
The debate continued with one person admitting they “used to fancy him,” as another added: “How the mighty have fallen.”
“I met him at a Most Haunted Live which is just bizarre,” another chimed in.
One added: “I was today years old when I found this out.”
While one replied: “Should’ve stuck to Newsround.”
David Bull has been Reform UK’s co-deputy leader since 2023 and its health spokesman.
In 2006, he was selected as the Conservative candidate for Brighton Pavillion for the following general election but stood down in 2009 to head up a Conservative policy review on sexual health.
He joined the Brexit Party, later Reform UK in 2019 and was elected as one of their MEPs for North West England but stood down when the UK left the EU.
On his website he describes himself as “a medical doctor, a passionate campaigner and an experienced, intelligent award-winning TV presenter who has been on our screens for over twenty years.”
