Chaos as riots erupt and police automobile overturned by indignant mob in sick scenes
Leeds descended into chaos after police were called to a disturbance at a property in the suburbs of the city.
A police car was overturned in the carnage after a riot broke out in Luxor Street in the Harehills area of Leeds.
Disturbing footage online showed an angry mob, including youngsters, smashing up a cop car using things like scooters and prams – with officers reportedly left running for their lives, according to the Daily Express.

Police have now confirmed that they were called to a disturbance involving agency workers and children – before they were later moved to a safe space.
Videos online show one bloke smashing a car with a pram while another shows a group overturning a police car – with whistles and cheers being heard in the background.
As reported by LeedsLive: “People have described the scenes as ‘mayhem’ and ‘a riot’ on social media. A video surfaced on Reddit at around 7.15pm as scooters, push chairs, bikes and bats were used in the assault on the blue-lighted vehicle. Hundreds of people are gathered around following the incident on Thursday evening.
“More footage of the aftermath surfaced on TikTok at 8pm where the police car has been shunted on to its side. Leeds Live does not have the full details of the incident but West Yorkshire Police has been contacted for more information.”
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “At 5pm today, police were called to an ongoing disturbance at an address in Luxor Street, Harehills.
“Officers attended and found an ongoing disturbance which involved some agency workers and some children.
“More people started to attend the location and a decision was made to remove the agency workers and the children to a safe place.
“A crowd started to gather and more officers were requested to attend the area, where some pockets of disorder were occurring.
“More officers have been deployed to the area to assist with the management of this incident. Some road closures are also being implemented and people are advised to avoid the area at this time.
“No injuries have been reported and enquiries are ongoing at the scene.”
The situation is ongoing and police remain at the scene.
