Snoop Dogg is in excessive spirits watching judo on the Olympics in Paris
Snoop Dogg smiled and flashed a thumbs up while watching the USA judo team compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, which was held at Champ-de-Mars Arena on Thursday.
The 52-year-old rap superstar got into the Parisian spirit by donning a black beret and large sunglasses while sporting his signature star-spangled tracksuit.
Snoop (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) was hired by NBC to be a special correspondent for the televised international athletic competition, which runs through August 11.
The 16-time Grammy nominee also showed his patriotism by posing for a snap with retired US Army lieutenant general, Reynold Nelson Hoover.
Snoop is famously associated with all things involving marijuana but, in France, it is reportedly illegal for personal use and limited for medical use yet remains one of the most popular drugs in the country.

The Long Beach native – whose clothing is emblazoned with the faces of the athletes – has been one of the standouts of the Olympics telecast, eagerly cheering on every USA team from judo to women’s volleyball.
‘Man, this is a grind out here, but I’m having so much fun,’ Snoop gushed to NBC News host Mike Tirico on Wednesday.
‘Mike, I may be the MVP of the Olympics, just saying.’
The 6ft4in hip-hop star was awarded a keikogi uniform and an honorary black belt from the USA judo team during a promotional appearance on July 24.
While being instructed on how to perform an ‘ouchi-gari’ martial art move, Snoop misheard is as ‘the OG.’
‘I was like, “Yeah, the OG. We’ll name that after you.” It was awesome,’ judo competitor Angelica Delgado recalled to USA Today.
‘I’m going to call it the OG from now on, I’m not even going to say the Japanese name for the throw, but it was really cool.’
An ouchi-gari is a move where an attacker strikes an opponent’s chest then does a rear throw by hooking the opponent’s leg from the inside and knocking the opponent on their back.

Last Friday, the Emmy-winning performer had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch before the opening ceremony, which he called ‘extraordinary.’
‘Holding the torch, walking through the city. Man, I felt like Muhammad Ali,’ Snoop told NBC News.
‘It was excellent. And I found out that when you hold the torch, you’re a peace messenger. So, I really felt good about that…I was waving, shaking hands, kissing the babies, doing what I do…putting my foot in the pavement. Letting the people know that we’re here. We’re here for peace, love and unity, and great sportsmanship. That’s what we’re here for, baby.’
The Summertime 24 rapper will make his debut as a coach on the 26th season of The Voice – premiering September 23 on NBC – alongside Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and fellow newcomer Michael Bublé.
‘If you know anything about me, you know I love music of all forms,’ Snoop – who gets 28.7M monthly listeners on Spotify – told The Tonight Show on May 13.
