Moment knife battle breaks out in broad daylight as males slash at one another

A chilling video has emerged showing a ‘knife’ fight breaking out on a street in broad daylight – with two men slashing at each other as terrified bystanders looked on.

The footage, capturing the terrifying brawl in Smethwick, near Birmingham, reveals two men brandishing what seem to be large blades at each other on Londonderry Lane on Thursday (August 8).

One of the men, clad in a hood, is seen waving the weapon above his head before making slashing gestures towards another man, who was donning a helmet and also armed. Two other hooded men were observed nearby, with the skirmish taking place behind a parked car.

The pair then attempt to hit each other on the arms before the hooded knife-wielder flees and the other two hooded figures start sprinting down the road. The connection of the car to the incident remains unclear, but the silver saloon was spotted with its boot open.

The violent episode unfolded outside Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre, with stunned members of the public driving past the scene. It’s believed the incident may have occurred yesterday, August 8, which is when the video – captured from a passing vehicle – was posted online, reports Birmingham Live.

One mum has spoken out about the harrowing ordeal, stating: “That’s my daughter’s car in front with my grandson in it, they were and still are traumatised to what they witnessed, broad daylight. I just have no words.”

Another local voiced her disbelief: “What has this world come to? Broad daylight, kids are on holidays, and this is going on the street.”
