‘Mannequin graveyard’ buzzing with paranormal exercise and a ghost known as Trevor

The woman in charge of a ‘mannequin graveyard’ has said she believes she has a spirit called “Trevor” haunting her terrifying collection.

Roz Edwards started collecting mannequins in 2007, after she wrapped up her African art shop. She now has a mountain of 15,000 salvaged dummies that is around 20ft high and 50ft long, housed in a former WWII RAF-base, Mannakin Hall, in Fulbeck Lincolnshire.

The creepy dolls are hired out and the graveyard is used as a film location, attracting the likes of the X Factor, Top Gear and even Supergrass’ Gas Goombes. She also hosts an annual Halloween event, which is a fitting affair for such a eerie and haunted location.

Roz first realised Mannekin Hall was haunted when “certain unexplained things happened.”

“A presence felt in a room, like someone was there, but no body was,” she explained, adding that there was “some activity” in the art studio “where a crash bang was heard and a draw full of screws had flown off a shelf.”

During the lockdown when she was at the graveyard alone she saw a “shadowy figure at the end of the corridor”.

“I kind of knew by then we had an atmosphere and so I shouted out to him and now call him Trevor,” she said

She now believes the former RAF base is home to several spirits, four of which Roz has named Trevor, Joshua, Gladstone and The Mysterious Airman.

While Roz said many visitors believe the mannequins are haunted, investigations haven’t drawn any connections between the two, and in fact, are likely to be related to the location’s military history.

“According to investigators, we have a lady called Alice who sings in our warehouse. One wonders if she was a local girl who sang to the troops,” Roz said.

“The hall was an RAF and US Air Force base in the second world war and in particular, a communal dining area. It would’ve been a hive of activity.”

She added that there was some kind of tragedy at the hall which claimed the lives of 23 people and that she believes the spirits belong to some of these people.

Despite this, Roz said the spirits are good, “but shy,” adding: “I haven’t ever had any bad feelings about them.”

Trevor and company make themselves known by triggering a feeling that you are not alone, although you appear to be.

She said: “It’s like an energy, you expect to see a person but no one is there.

She recalled a time when she heard someone walking up the corridors whistling a tune, adding: “I was the only one here, with my dog, who got up and barked. It’s usually very subtle, like when you see someone out of the corner of your eye.”
