Sweet second from Prince George served as a ‘wake-up name’ for Meghan and Harry
A royal pundit says a sweet snap of Prince George acted as a real “wake-up call” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan and Harry.
The candid throne room photo depicted the late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II alongside her direct successors, King Charles, Prince William, and young Prince George.
Dropped like a bombshell in early 2020, this was moments before Meghan and Harry’s momentous shakedown announcement. On the surface, it’s a line up that cements the monarchy’s continuity, echoing the timeless tradition of capturing the sovereign with their heirs apparent.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
Despite such historical norms, renowned royal biographer Andrew Morton reckons the picture ruffled some serious feathers within those stately walls, reports the Daily Star.
Catalogue after catalogue of reasons might have pushed them to Megxit but royal scribe Andrew Morton sees this snapshot as the big “wake up call” to go solo and move to the United States.
Penning down thoughts in ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, Morton surmises: “The royal couple suspected that the entire institution was conspiring against them. As they saw it, the evidence was all around them.”
Morton pens ahead: The unspoken code was straightforward: the future of the monarchy was assured, with or without Meghan and Harry.
Allegedly, these jitters got stamped true when Harry’s crucial sit-down with Her Maj, meant for chalking his regal road map, got dismissed gracefully in Morton’s account.
The expert stated: “This sense that, despite their international popularity, they were low down the royal totem pole was confirmed when Harry arranged to meet the Queen for a grandson-to-grandmother chat in early January.
“Regrettably, the meeting was postponed at the last minute.”
He suggested traditional internal politics were suspected, as his family feared anything the Queen agreed during casual chats could be used by Harry as a bargaining chip.
Speaking on The Mirror’s podcast ‘the Commonwealth’, Morton disclosed that Harry and Meghan had contemplated leaving The Firm much earlier than the public believed, revealing discussions began just six months after their nuptials.
He further added: “Harry was having conversations in a London hotel with Oprah Winfrey back in November 2018, just six months after they’d been married.
“So they were contemplating a different path quite early on. The irony is they had been given the keys to the first class lounge when Prince Harry was appointed Youth Ambassador to William and Catherine.
“This was essentially the Queen’s way of saying ‘you handle the rest of the world, leave Royal Family to manage the UK where they will eventually become the Heads of State.”
The duo announced their decision to step back from Buckingham Palace duties in January 2020.
