Brawling Ryanair passenger on flight to Tenerife ‘slaps steward’ throughout scrap
A Ryanair passenger on a flight to Tenerife slapped a steward in the face, leaving fellow travellers shocked, according to reports.
The bloke, who was on the Liverpool to Tenerife service, sparked a scrap that saw the plane rerouted to Santiago due to the terrifying ruckus mid-flight. The holiday jet had to make an unscheduled stop after the coppers were alerted to the troublemaker on July 4.
A video clip captures the moment Ryanair crew members attempt to deal with the chap as he rummages through an overhead locker.
But then, in a shocking turn, he swings his arm out and smacks a steward right across the chops. Onlookers were left in shock as another passenger, sat opposite, clocked the unruly man square in the face.

Quick-thinking passengers then jumped into action, aiding the crew and pinning the man down, reports the Mirror.
A traveller on board took to Facebook to recount the ordeal, singling out one bloke for causing the commotion that grounded the flight, while hailing the Ryanair team for their “professionalism.”
They reported that the man was “drunk” and even tried to spark up a ciggie on the plane, sparking up the altercation instead.
Once the aircraft touched down in Santiago de Compostela, the police were there to greet it. Spanish air traffic controllers tweeted about the drama: “The crew of a flight from Liverpool to Tenerife south have contacted us about a conflictive passenger on board and have had to divert to Santiago de Compostela.”
Ryanair has barred a man from its flights after causing trouble mid-air, the airline confirmed. The official statement read: “This flight from Liverpool to Tenerife (4 Jul) diverted to Santiago after a passenger became disruptive onboard.
“Crew called ahead for police assistance and the aircraft was met by local police upon arrival who removed this passenger before this flight continued to Tenerife. This passenger has since been banned from flying with Ryanair.”
The incident comes in the wake of anger from a disabled pensioner who was informed that her flight couldn’t take to the skies until her electric scooter was taken off the plane due to concerns it might explode.
Susan Alty, 69, ready to head from Paphos International Airport to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, was left seething when airport staff came aboard.
She alleges Ryanair told her that her scooter’s lithium battery exceeded the safety limits.
Despite the disruption, the flight eventually departed without Susan’s scooter, which arrived at her Chorley, Lancashire residence later.
