The Premier League season might be underway, but several clubs are still keen to bolstering their squad as the transfer deadline looms.
With only a week remaining in the summer window, many fans are eagerly anticipating that last-minute deal on which their side’s season depends.
In today’s fast-paced technology landscape, clubs are increasingly turning to advanced tools such as data and AI, with Man United transfer guru Omar Berrada hailing the use of such aids.
This research, from Bonuscodebets.co.uk, utilised the well-known AI bot ChatGPT to recommend three signings for each Premier League team, identifying their needs and the areas where they could strengthen their squad.
As the deadline for the summer transfer window swiftly approaches, Mail Sport takes a look at ChatGPT’s top recommendations.

Mail Sport utilised famous AI bot ChatGPT to recommend three signings each Premier League club should focus their efforts
The Premier League 2023-24 runner up, Arsenal, are believed by AI to be in need of a top-class striker, with Ivan Toney from Brentford emerging as the priority choice according to their analysis.
The Gunners scored 91 goals in the last campaign, more than five of the previous 10 Premier League winners, but discussions over their need for an out-and-out No 9 have rumbled on over the past months.
ChatGPT also recommends Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen as a top option for Mikel Arteta..
The 23-year-old defender was previously reported as a target for several Premier League sides, such as Manchester United.
AI’s most controversial choice for Arsenal is Romeo Lavia from Chelsea.
Arteta isn’t short of midfield options already, with Declan Rice, Jorginho, Thomas Partey on the books.
But ChatGPT explains: ‘Lavia’s ability to break up play, distribute the ball effectively, and contribute to both defensive and transitional phases makes him an excellent addition to Arsenal’s squad.’
Their rivals, Chelsea, don’t seem to need another signing, after head coach Enzo Maresca revealed that more than half of the team are training separately having been demoted to the ‘bomb squad’. However, ChatGPT believes Federico Chiesa would be a great addition to Chelsea’s 10 signings this summer.
French defender Maxence Lacroix is considered a good fit for Chelsea, given their attacking full backs Reece James and Marc Cucurella. However, the club would need to find a solution for Trevoh Chalobah, who has lost his squad number and is set for a departure.
AI highlights the team’s need for a top-class goalkeeper like AC Milan‘s Mike Maignan, saying: ‘His shot-stopping ability, command of the area, and distribution skills would be a significant upgrade and provide stability at the back.’
The Rossoneri’s Noah Okafor has been recommended to Manchester United due to his capability to play as a striker or on the left wing. According to ChatGPT, the attacker, who scored six goals during the previous campaign, demonstrated ‘his ability to compete at a high level, which would benefit Manchester United in both domestic and continental matches.’
Goncalo Ramos from PSG is also recommended to the Red Devils. The Portuguese faced tough competition for a starting berth in France last season, however, with Kylian Mbappe’s departure the player may become a regular this term.

Nico Williams, Barcelona’s main target for this summer, is suggested for his ability to cover both the left and right wing positions after Marcus Rashford and Antony endured disappointing campaigns last season.
Their neighbours, Manchester City, are advised to consider the signing of Kaoru Mitoma, despite the recent addition of Brazilian Savinho to their squad, who made his debut against Chelsea on Sunday.
Another surprising recommendation by AI for City is the Joao Felix, who rejoined Chelsea on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £42.7million on Wednesday.
It is unclear how such a talent would perform under the management of Pep Guardiola, but the player expressed his happiness to return to Chelsea, saying: ‘I loved my time here before, and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day.’
A more realisitic suggestion from AI is Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries. Prasied by the bot for his skills, it suggests that he could be a long-term replacement for the 34-year-old Kyle Walker. However, Guardiola is believed to be satisfied with the youngster Rico Lewis, who can also play as a left back and defensive midfielder.
ChatGPT also has several suggestions for Liverpool, a club who need them more than most having completed only one signing this summer. The Reds’ failure to sign Martin Zubimendi, who opted to remain at his boyhood club Real Sociedad, has prompted the AI to highlight two names: Edson Alvarez from West Ham and Yunus Musah from AC Milan.
Both players are viewed as significant additions to Liverpool’s squad, which has faced a need for top-class defensive midfielders since the departure of the Brazilian Fabinho to Al-Ittihad.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie accompanies Alvarez and Musah, as the Ecuadorian is thought to ‘align well with Slot’s tactical needs for a ball-playing centre-back who can contribute both defensively and in buildup play.’

Teun Koopmeiners, previous Liverpool’s target, is believed to be a perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur
Atalanta’s midfielder Teun Koopmeiners was previously linked with a move to Liverpool, but AI now believes that Tottenham need to bolster their midfield following the disappointing 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Monday.
La Dea reportedly asked for £50million for the 26-year-old player who enjoyed an impressive last season, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists to his team-mates. He has been heavily linked with fellow Serie A side Juventus this summer.
Ange Postecoglou has already been interested in Eberechi Eze, though Crystal Palace would be loathed to lose another key forward after Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich this summer.
ChatGPT suggests that Eze excels in shining against low-block teams, saying that Spurs ‘would benefit from Eze’s ability to thread passes and deliver decisive balls in the final third, especially in breaking down compact defences.’
Former Arsenal academy player and Dortmund star Donyell Malen is seen as a valuable addition to Tottenham’s attacking play due to his versatility, ‘adding more depth and variety to Spurs’ attack, particularly on the wings.’
It is evident that ChatGPT believes Newcastle should strengthen their defensive line after it was reported that they are interested in signing Barcelona’s centre back, Andreas Christensen.
However, according to artificial intelligence, David Hancko from Feyenoord had a more impressive performance last season. The Slovakia international was a consistent starter during Euro 2024, featuring in the starting lineup in all four games.
Despite Sandro Tonali’s return to the pitch after his ban for betting breaches, ChatGPT suggests Newcastle should further bolster their midfield line with the additions of Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach and Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu.

Under their new head coach, Julen Lopetegui, West Ham United had a busy summer transfer window, bringing many big names, such as Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, to the club.
However, after securing a right back signing, ChatGPT recommends strengthening the left flank by signing Nicolas Tagliafico for his defensive and offensive abilities.
Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony has emerged as a promising talent after a successful loan spell at Leeds United. AI said: ‘His ability to deliver quality crosses and his knack for finding spaces in tight areas would significantly enhance West Ham’s attacking options and provide a much-needed boost to their creativity in the final third.’
The bot insisted that the Hammers should pursue Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s return to European football for his experience in Serie A for Lazio. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder’s presence would ‘give West Ham a dominant figure who can control the game and contribute with goals and assists,’ according to the online platform.
