Prince Harry to launch 16 variations of e book – however Royals breathe sigh of reduction

Prince Harry is set to bring out 16 paperback versions of his tell-all book Spare.

But in an ‘unusual’ move from the publisher, the book’s content will not be updated from its hardback form – despite a number of recent Royal dramas

It means the Royal family do not have to worry about any fresh bombshells from the Duke of Sussex, after the first release of Spare made shockwaves across the world.

Some authors choose to update the paperback edition with a new chapter, but Harry’s publishers, Penguin Random House, announced yesterday that Spare’s new imprint would be published in 16 languages worldwide.

But Harry has chosen to keep the same cover image as the hardback and the ‘contents of the book are unchanged’, according to Penguin.

It could be seen as a move by Harry to offer an olive branch to his relatives.

The hardback edition of Spare was published in January 2023 and sold over six million copies across the world – although a stream of its sensational claims were leaked ahead of publication.

However, the October release of the paperback edition is set to clash with King Charles’ appearance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.

It is the first time he has attended since becoming King and it was announced back in July he planned to attend despite his ongoing cancer treatment.

While Charles will appear as head of the Commonwealth during the meeting between October 21 and 25, Harry’s paperback is being published in the US on October 22 and the UK two days later.

The clash threatens to reignite tensions between Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and his estranged family.

Harry’s bombshell memoir included claims Prince William broke his necklace and shoved him onto a dog bowl during a row.

Private family conversations between himself, his father and his brother were also revealed in the book – as well as disagreements between Meghan and William’s wife Kate.
