Erik ten Hag’s essential window as Man United signal six however lose 9 gamers

Ineos’ first transfer window at the helm of Manchester United has concluded – and it’s been a successful one.

The Red Devils were in dire need of bolstering their squad following a dismal 2023/24 campaign, and Erik ten Hag has been supported with five permanent signings for the upcoming Premier League season.

United have enhanced the entire core of their team throughout the window, with Manuel Ugarte being the club’s sixth and final signing on deadline day. All of the deals struck have been on favourable terms. There have also been some major coups, such as snatching Lille’s defensive wonderkid Leny Yoro from under Real Madrid’s nose.

There have also been several departures over the past few months, which were necessary given the club’s limited transfer budget heading into the window, reports the Mirror.

Funds have been generated from selling players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri, who were in the last year of their contracts. Other players were also sold for fees, including Mason Greenwood.

A deadline day drama involving Chelsea and Jadon Sancho went down to the wire before the ex-Borussia Dortmund player was given the go-ahead to move to Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen if the deal was finalised in time, but indications suggest that it was.
