Chiesa reveals his true colors as he is noticed within the stands at Old Trafford

Federico Chiesa showed his true colours as he was spotted cheering on his new Liverpool pals during their clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Italian signed for the powerhouse club in a deal reportedly worth over £12.5million from Juventus, plus some extra dosh depending on performance. Chiesa is set to beef up Arne Slot’s striking options this term, but he had to sit tight and wait for his debut.

Slot had already dropped a hint in his press conference that Chiesa wouldn’t be donning his boots for the United clash.

Before the game got underway, Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher weighed in on what Chiesa’s arrival means for the club. Speaking to Sky Sports, Carra bigged up Chiesa’s versatility and reckoned he’ll keep Mohamed Salah on his toes, reports the Liverpool Echo.

“The biggest thing it gives Liverpool is genuine quality to replace Mohamed Salah when he’s either rested or has a slight knock,” said Carragher.

“When you think of all the other attacking options that Liverpool have, the majority of them feel comfortable on the left.

“So any of them, when they play on the right – [Darwin] Nunez, [Diogo] Jota, [Luis] Diaz or [Cody] Gakpo – it never feels right.

“I think it’s a great addition, and we talk about Man United in the past having four forwards famously with the treble [winning] season. Liverpool play with three forwards and they’ve got six now, so there’s healthy competition.”
