Planes at Heathrow Airport collide as emergency services flood tarmac
Emergency services are at Heathrow Airport after two commercial passenger planes “scraped into each other”.
The incident took place at some point around 8pm tonight (September 28).
Heathrow Airport has confirmed to the Daily Star that the crash took place, but did state that it wasn’t a “full on” collision.
One eyewitness tweeted that a Korean Air plane was involved in the accident.
Another user, claiming to be on one of the craft, tweeted: “I think I’m on one of aircraft.
“Pretty sure we scrapped another plane with our wing tip while taxiing.
“We have been told that we are going back to the gate due to a technical issue.
“But that was 15 mins ago and we haven’t moved.”
A video from the scene, posted by former journalist Steve Smith shows around five emergency service vehicles on the scene, but he confirms that there is “no fire”.
The Daily Star has contacted Heathrow Airport for a comment.
