Isak tells FPL managers ‘switch me out’ earlier than Newcastle star faces Wolves
Alexander Isak has cheekily hinted Fantasy Premier League managers should ditch him from their teams before Newcastle‘s next game against Wolves.
The Swedish sharpshooter bagged a stunning 21 goals in 30 Premier League games last season. But his time with the Toon this season has been a rollercoaster so far for FPL fans, as he failed to find the back of the net during their first couple of games versus Southampton and Bournemouth.
However, he came through with a massive goal against Tottenham last time around, securing a 2-1 victory for the Magpies, pushing them up to a fifth place in the league. And he loves to prove doubters wrong by netting goals right after being transferred out.

With a decent haul of 16 FPL points buoyed by both an opening assist against Southampton and a trio of bonus points thanks to his Tottenham heroics, Isak’s got FPL managers in a bit of a tizzy. And he gave a cheeky nudge to the FPL gaffers wondering if they should slap the captain’s armband on him for the upcoming match at Molineux.
Isak, who costs £8.5m in the game, quipped: “No. It’s much better to hear when people have transferred me out and then score two goals. That’s a much better feeling,” reports the Express.

Not one to dabble in fantasy footy himself, Isak confessed playing the game might just turn him into a bit of a ball hog on the pitch. He also weighed in on the Erling Haaland hysteria – with the Manchester City hotshot priced at an eye-watering £15.2m – admitting begrudgingly: “You must have Haaland [in your team] unfortunately.”
Isak has been smashing it in England since his switch from Real Sociedad to Newcastle. The forward has netted a whopping 36 goals in 71 matches since the summer of 2022, earning him a rep as one of the top strikers in the Premier League.
He bagged himself a tidy 100 FPL points in his first season at St James’ Park, despite having to share the pitch with Callum Wilson. Last season, he upped his game and snagged 172 points.
This season, he’s a hot pick in the fantasy league, and something of a bargain compared to goal machine Haaland. Isak’s gunning for the Premier League Golden Boot and wants to catch up with Haaland, who’s six goals ahead.
After slotting one past Tottenham, Isak said: “I was really please [to get my first goal of the season]. The first goal is always really important and of course it was a great assist from Jacob Murphy and I’m happy that he passed to me.
“Results-wise we’ve done good [this season], performance-wise we can do much better, which can be a good feeling as well.”
