Inside Eddie Hall’s insane 10,000 calorie-a-day weight-reduction plan

  • Eddie Hall opened up on his experience eating the ‘carnivore diet’ for a month
  • Retired strongman consumes nearly 10,000 calories-a-day as part of the diet
  • The 36-year-old claimed that it’s helped relieve all ‘aches and pains’ in his body

Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has revealed the secret behind his incredible strength and recent weight loss: a strict carnivore diet.

Hall has built reputation upon his immense strength and held that title back in 2017 after completing a 500kg deadlift – before swiftly retiring from the competition.

The 36-year-old set his sights upon lower-weight competitions and ventures outside of the powerlifting world, which meant a strict change in his diet.

At the time, Hall weighed a staggering 30.5 stone (or 427lbs) which raised health concerns with his doctors and, since then, he’s managed to change for the better.

Now, Hall weighs around 26 stone and credits that to his new diet, which he claims has helped him lose ‘six kilos in six weeks’.

Speaking to Mail Sport, the Clash Royale ambassador said: ‘The carnivore diet is going really good actually. I lost six kilos in six weeks.

‘Inflammations have gone down, I’m eating as much food as I want in terms of meat and eggs, so yeah… so far so good!

‘Will it last? I’m going to do three months and see how I feel. Will I continue or not? We’ll have to see’.

The carnivore diet consists of eating only meat, fish, and animal products like butter and eggs, cutting out other food groups such as fruits, vegetables, and seeds.

Unlike other extreme diets like keto, which are low-carb, the carnivore diet aims to eliminate carbs entirely.

It’s based on the belief that our ancestors thousands of years ago lived just off meat, with proponents claiming foods high in carbs and sugar – including certain fruits like apples and bananas – are responsible for high rates of chronic disease.

Hall has documented his incredible journey throughout the ‘carnivore diet’ on his YouTube channel – which boasts an incredible 3 million subscribers.

In one recent video, Hall showed off everything that he consumes within a day and it’s safe to say that the average person would struggle to eat half – let alone his entire diet.

In the video, Hall showed that he starts his day with a gargantuan 1500 calorie breakfast of salmon, five eggs cooked in butter, cottage cheese, and a milkshake.

Hall then embarks on a walk through his neighborhood but typically, you could expect the former World’s Strongest Man to be inside a gym after breakfast.

Following his morning activities, the 36-year-old has more eggs, another milkshake, and an entire ribeye steak for lunch, bringing his total calorie count up to 3700.

After wolfing that down, Hall does head to the gym to get an afternoon workout in and use that fuel from earlier in the day to help build his muscle.

But, there’s no rest for the wicked, thus during his workout, Hall downs yet another protein shake, consisting of a further 600 calories.

Since retiring from the Strongman competitions, Hall has maintained his strength and even smashed the record for the hardest punch in the world, just two weeks after UFC star Alex Pereira set the prior benchmark.

Just a month after that impressive feat, Hall competed in a unique 2v1 handicap bout for his first MMA outing, at the World Freak Fight League event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

Hall took on TikTok superstars Jamil and Jamel Neffati – also known as The Neffati Brothers – and won via knockout after stunning both of his opponents.

It’s almost surprising that someone who consumes as much as Hall is able to compete in an MMA bout but ‘The Beast’ proves that anything is possible.

After a workout in the gym, Hall moves on and snacks on some Biltong, which provides him with an additional 113 calories.

And, finally, for dinner Hall has a further two ribeye steaks, two eggs cooked in butter, and a dessert of a milkshake, broth, and protein powder.

This adds on another staggering 2600 calories, bringing his total for the day up to a monumental 9,800 – with protein accounting for 892g of that.

Despite cutting out food groups such as fruits, vegetables, and seeds, Hall insists that the diet has helped him lost weight but retain muscle and credits the diet for helping him ‘train harder and longer’.

He told Mail Sport: ‘Don’t get me wrong – I don’t think I’ve lost muscle! I think it’s just fat that’s come off me and I think, actually, that my strength has improved.

‘So if anything, I might put a bit of muscle on and lost fat. I think there’s definitely a place for it people’s diets in terms of health.

‘I mean, I was getting up every day with a bad back, bad knee, bad foot, and honestly, two weeks on the diet, that’s just gone.

‘I’ve got no aches or pains and I’m able to train harder, train longer and I’m sleeping better. So it’s definitely got some good health benefits. I would recommend trying it and see what it does for you. So far, for me, it’s worked really well’.

Hall even admitted that he would recommend the diet to his son Maximus, who has already been tipped to compete in Strongman competitions like his father.

The 11-year-old is already able to deadlift 120kg – more than most adults – and could soon be taking centre stage, just like his father.

Clash Royale, a fast paced mobile strategy game and sponsors of UFC 306, announced Card Evolutions to its two most feared characters, P.E.K.K.A and Mega Knight, who have become even stronger in their new forms.
