Liverpool ace instructed he is ‘greatest on the earth’ as Jurgen Klopp verdict proved proper

Liverpool ace Andy Robertson has once again been dubbed the “best left-back in the world”, mirroring the words of Jurgen Klopp.

This Scotland sensation has been an absolute diamond for the Reds since he joined from Hull for a bargain £8m back in 2017, racking up a massive 300-plus appearances. In his time wearing the Liverpool shirt, Robertson has been pivotal in the team’s conquests.

He’s bagged the Premier League title, Champions League trophy, plus FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup glory. He’s not lost his shine under Arne Slot either, playing every second of the season’s first five league tilts.

Now, ex-Southampton player Romain Perraud is singing Robertson’s praises, having butted heads with him on the pitch at St Mary’s. Chatting with El Correo de Andalucia, Perraud waxed lyrical.

He said: “For the last four or five years, I think the best left-back in the world is Robertson from Liverpool. When I have time, it’s important for me to see his ability to play in this position. He’s a very, very good example.”

It isn’t the first time Robertson’s been at the top of the left-back charts. The former Reds manager Klopp was already belting out this tune in 2021 even as whispers grew around Kostas Tsimikas getting a crack at the starting spot, reports the Mirror.

The German manager said: “Kostas is very close he has a lot of quality he can push Andy Robertson. But Andy Robertson in my eyes is the best left-back in the world but it’s good we have the options to give Robbo a rest in moments even when he doesn’t like it.”

Former Reds player Jose Enrique has also sung Robertson’s praises, echoing Klopp’s sentiment. He said: “He has surprised everyone. When he arrived at Liverpool it was hard in a big club after coming from Hull City.”

Furthermore, Enrique highlighted Robertson’s consistent excellence, stating: “Alberto Moreno was starting ahead of him but for me, he has been the best left-back in the world for the last few years. I know everyone talks about [Alphonso] Davies from Bayern Munich, but if you talk about consistency and level of performance, this guy is unbelievable.”

He went on to say, “Liverpool play about every three days and this guy always gives you a good performance and for me, he is the player of the season for Liverpool.”

Robertson, often praised for his performances, may sit out the upcoming Carabao Cup match. As Liverpool prepare to face West Ham at Anfield in the third round, there’s a chance Tsimikas may fill in for the Scotsman.
