Welcome to Photo Spotlight. For our latest episode of the series, ANDY HOOPER has compiled his best photos from the 2024 Motocross of Nations.
With the sport’s origins tracing back to the UK, it was fitting that the world’s best riders converged in a clash of nations at the Matterley Basin Grand Prix track in Winchester.
The rainy conditions didn’t detract from an exhilarating atmosphere as fans from all over the globe cheered their respective countries to glory in what proved to be a historic event.
Ultimately team Australia, powered by the prodigious talents of the Lawrence brothers Hunter and Jett, took home the glory, with the USA in second and Great Britain finishing 12th.

Twenty countries were represented in the event over the weekend which has been referred to as the Olympics of Motocross
Max Anstie, Tommy Searle and Conrad Mewse comprised team Great Britain in the exhilarating event
Team GB ultimately finished twelfth as a raucous home crowd cheered them on amidst rainy conditions in Hampshire
Fans from all corners of the globe watched on as the event returned to the UK for the first time in seven years
Each nation is represented by a rider in the 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc class over the course of the event
Excited supporters pitched tents and enjoyed some downtime as the rain cleared up between the races on Sunday
Ultimately it was team Australia who walked away with the win, as brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence shined for the Aussies
Team USA were hot on their heels throughout and finished just four points behind in second with the Netherlands in third
The Americans came agonisingly close to taking home the title for the 24th time, with the event coming down to the final race
