Sewer swimmers cube with demise as some model them ‘determined for a Darwin Award’

A thrill-seeker who sets about filming “family-friendly” challenges has failed to impress fans with his latest stunt.

YouTuber, Gnarly Charlie shares videos of his crazy escapades with his 420k subscribers. But his most recent one largely went down like a s**t sandwich.

In a short video called: “Hidden dangers of sewer swimming,” our boy, Gnarly advises people to “think twice” about doing such a thing. Footage shows him travelling down sewer pipes in an inflatable raft encountering danger along the way.

He says: “My friends and I found this crazy tunnel so on this rainy day, we inflated some boats, put on our protective wet suits and made our way to the mouth of the sewer.

“We sent our friends down the dark winding tunnel and watched them disappear.

“My girlfriend and I went next and immediately got blasted in the face by some sewage run up. The flow was so powerful, we realised we’d been separated from our friends and our boat was quickly filling with water.”

“We’re f****d,” he added.

Further into the tunnel they find their friend, Ben whose boat had popped leaving him “stranded.”

“RIP Ben,” Gnarly joked.

After “20 minutes of floating,” they come out of the tunnel where their boat flips, leaving them clinging onto a low hanging branch to “stop ourselves from getting swept downstream.”

They wait for Ben to emerge and are safely reunited.

Gnarly adds: “Anything can happen so this is why you’d better think twice before swimming in the sewer.”

The video attracted over 7.1m views and 5k comments.

“Thats not a hidden danger. Thats an obvious danger,” said another.

“Nothing more refreshing than a splash of eau de E. Coli,” joked another.

One added: “Never underestimate a human’s ability to discover multiple ways to jeopardize their lives.”

“Hi, Natural Selection here. Keep up the good work,” said one person.

“I hope Pennywise gets you,” remarked another.

Civil engineers even commented on the thread to highlight the dangers of such an activity citing a number of fatalities and urging them to keep away.

Many others listed the amount of diseases the daredevils are leaving themselves open to.
