‘Beautiful soul’ pregnant lady killed in excessive rise fall pictured as child fights for all times
A heavily pregnant woman who tragically fell 17 storeys from a Leeds tower block has been named locally.
Emma Acko has been described by friends and family as a “beautiful soul.” West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the mum “fell from a height” on Tuesday morning. Her baby is fighting for their life.
Sarah Whapham, the cousin of Emma, expressed her shock on Facebook, saying: “A call I was not expecting this morning has left us in complete shock. Emma you had the biggest personality and the biggest heart. My beautiful cousin rest peacefully,” LeedsLive reports.

Another post from Megan Moore remembered her as a “beautiful lady”, writing: “Rest in peace you beautiful lady. I cannot believe I’m actually writing this. Always a beautiful soul in and out…Thinking of your children at home and praying for your baby girl in hospital will be okay.”

Another local resident posted on Facebook: “Absolutely devastating news today, I can’t believe it, been sat crying all afternoon.”
She added: “Sending love n hugs to everyone at this sad time RIP Emma Acko.”
Others echoed these sentiments, with one person saying: “Rest In Peace Emma Acko … you were and still always will be an amazing woman no matter what we always had a proper good laugh and good times together. I’ll cherish the memories sleep tight.”
Local councillor Luke Farley described the incident as “deeply distressing” adding: “We pass on our sincere condolences to the loved ones of the person who has died.”

Police have confirmed that a heavily pregnant woman fell to her death from the 17th floor of a tower block, with her newborn now battling for survival.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service alerted West Yorkshire Police to the harrowing event at Shakespeare Towers, situated in Shakespeare Approach, at about 10.24am. Despite frantic efforts by medics to save the expectant mother, tragically identified as a lady in her 30s, she was declared dead on-site.
Miraculously, her baby was successfully delivered at a nearby hospital and is currently receiving “critical care”.
A West Yorkshire police spokesperson there are “no suspicious circumstances” and that the coroner’s office has been informed.
