Ratboy Slim! Superstar DJ compelled to shut his waterfront cafe after inspectors discovered RODENT infestation

Megastar Fatboy Slim has been ordered to clean up his beach-front cafe after investigators were said to have found it was infested with rodents.

The DJ was forced to close up shop for a much-needed deep clean after health inspectors found rat droppings in several areas across the establishment, reports The Sun.

Officials who went in to investigate the Big Beach Cafe in Hove, Sussex, after it was awarded a hygiene rating of just one out of five last month deemed it ‘a risk to safety’.

Rodent faeces was discovered in all food areas of the business, with a following report claiming: ‘This presents an imminent risk to food safety’.

It continued to state that Slim, real name Norman Cook, is required to have adequate procedures in place to prevent pests.

The humiliating report said food within the business was stored at 15C – when it should be below 8C, lettuce was not washed before serving, chopping boards were worn, and a chef was not wearing an apron.

The local council confirmed they will be returning to the cafe to ensure the issues were fixed.

It comes just four  months after the cafe was forced to close after it was smashed up by ‘vile hooligans’.

In June, the cafe took to Instagram to confirm it had been targeted by mindless vandals who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to the building.

According to a report in the paper The Argus at the time, The Big Beach Cafe was unable to open after a group of teenagers threw paving slabs and smashed glass in the seemingly random attack.

The cafe shared images from its CCTV camera on social media, confirming they would be temporarily closed after the kitchen suffered severe damage.

In one image, the metal shutters appeared warped and broken, while shards of glass was seen scattered across the ground near the buildings entrance.

‘Sorry we are unable to open our kitchen this morning as these three vile hooligans have caused ££££ of damage to our community,’ The Big Beach Cafe wrote in a post on Instagram.

‘Please share and get in touch with their details so we can prosecute them and make them pay for their actions,’ it continued.

Fatboy Slim bought the cafe from Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills in 2013 and often helps out in the kitchen.

Following the recent rodent incident, Brighton and Hove City Council said: ‘In instances where we consider there a risk to customers’ health, we work with the business.’

MailOnline has approached Cook’s representative for comment.
