David Gandy blasts British Airways for splitting him from his daughter, two, who was compelled to take a seat subsequent to stranger on overbooked flight on manner dwelling from Marrakesh

David Gandy has hit out at British Airways after being separated from his two-year-old on a four-hour flight.

Tweeting about the ordeal last night, the model, 44, said: ‘So @British_Airways you have oversold the flight.

‘Seats allocated to us have disappeared and you think its ok for my 2 year old to be sat on her own next to a stranger? What if there’s an emergency?

‘BA: well nothing we can do so yes its ok. COME on BA you can do better than this.’

Mr Gandy was flying with his girlfriend Stephanie Mednoros and their two children home to London from Marrakesh.

He welcomed his second daughter Tabitha Isabella with his barrister girlfriend in 2021.

The pair also share daughter Matilda who was born in 2018.

The proud father, who is Britain’s highest-paid male model, has been dating barrister Stephanie for four years yet remains coy over his private life.

Reportedly worth £12million, the family were on holiday, staying in the £1000 a night Mandarin Oriental Marrakech.

Posting snaps to his Instagram before his flight home, Gandy said: ‘From the totally private pools to the oasis of serenity of 20 hectares of olive groves and gardens, mountain views to the small farm for the children and just 10 minutes away from the famous Medina. I can’t say enough about the @mo_marrakech resort and the incredible team that looked after my family and I.’

The responses to his tweet also suggested it had happened to others.

I had this exact thing happen to some private customers of mine,’ someone responded.

‘They were a party of 8 with 3 children, not one of them had a seat together even though they pre booked them.’

Another person replied: ‘This happened to my 5 yr old son and I also with BA on our flight home from Alicante in August.’

David Gandy is the most recent celebrity to hit out at the airline.

In June James Corden, 46, confronted a British Airways employee after nightmarish flight from the Algarve to London, which was forced to stop in Lisbon.

The star was among the passengers on the turbulent trip where children were left ‘traumatised’ during a bumpy descent into the Portuguese capital.

Elizabeth Hurley warned fans to ‘avoid flying,’ saying she was left ‘stranded’ at Antigua airport for more than 12 hours when her British Airways flight was delayed.

In 2022 the actress hit out at the airline when her and other passengers were left without food or water for 20 hours.

In 2019 pop band Simply Red, fronted by Mick Hucknall, shared their annoyance over their plane apparently leaving without them despite having their luggage.

Daily Mail have approached British Airways and David Gandy’s reps for comment.
