Big Brother star says she was ‘kicked, punched and verbally abused’ by a violent passenger on a £1k flight after rowing over a reclined seat

Big Brother’s Narinder Kaur has told of how she was ‘kicked, punched and verbally abused’ by a violent passenger on a recent flight.

The TV personality, 51, who starred on season two of the reality TV show back in 2001, shared her awful experience on a flight to India for which she paid £1,000.

She explained how she was ‘flung forward’ by a woman as she slept after rowing over a reclined seat on the Air India flight.

Sharing the details to X, Narinder wrote: ‘Air rage is real and I had a terrible experience with a woman literally punching and kicking my seat forward as it was reclined (I was sleeping) whilst she was trying to eat behind me.

‘She literally flung me forward and I didn’t have my belt on. She proceeded to verbally abuse me. FYI she wasn’t even drunk.’

The radio presenter added: ‘Air India your staff failed to give me options on having her arrested on landing. Why are there no legal consequences for unruly and violent passengers?

‘Why is there a lack of clarity on who has the jurisdiction to penalise the offending passenger: the airline’s country of operation, the country of departure or destination, or the passenger’s country of citizenship?’

In another post, Narinder continued: ‘I was sleeping..I didn’t know food was being served at 4am..and she could have ASKED politely- kicking and punching my seat and verbally abusing me is not acceptable.’

‘I didn’t pay £1k to sit upright the entire flight..the man in front of me was fully reclined and I had PLENTY space..’

MailOnline has contacted Air India for comment.

Narinder starred on Big Brother in 2001, she was evicted on Day 29 with Brian Dowling going on to win the series.

Since her stint in the house Narinder has gone onto present a show on London’s Lyca Radio, and also published a tell-all book about her time in the house titled: Big Brother – The Inside Story in 2007.

She has since appeared on programmes such as Jeremy Vine, GB News and Talk TV.

Earlier this year, Narinder described her ‘upskirting’ ordeal as being ‘assaulted every day’ after Laurence Fox uploaded an intimate picture of her onto social media.

She said the reaction to the picture, thought to be taken over a decade ago, from social media bullies left her feeling as though she were a ‘laughingstock’.

The successful actress who contributes to Good Morning Britain used to work with Fox and was left devastated after he shared the picture on X, on 30 April to his 500,000 followers.

While enjoying a friend’s birthday at the Mayfair’s Park Lane hotel, London, with a media crowd including panellists on the Jeremy Vine show, Narinder was told about the picture which she described as: ‘unimaginably mortifying.’

The tweet from Laurence – who traded an acting career to become a political activist- was picked up by Andrew Tate and Tommy Robinson who are also on the far right of the political spectrum.

Narinder was labelled a ‘slut’ by followers of Laurence while Tate questioned if she was a victim of human trafficking, and Robinson brought up her previous OnlyFans page.

Speaking to The Times, she said: ‘It is like being assaulted every day, every time I tweet or go online, being called names again and again to the point where either I come off social media altogether — but that’s part of my job — or I carry on.’

‘I didn’t want to be a victim and I’m trying not to think it’s my fault.

‘It’s possible I didn’t have the right underwear that night, well over a decade ago, and worried the seam would show through the dress.

‘Now I think, why did I do that? Why have I put myself at risk? But also, why am I having to justify this?’

Narinder complained to the police after friends told her the image was online.

She praised the police’s fast response- within 20 minutes of her making a complaint- but has since grown frustrated with delays in the case, adding she feels ‘fobbed off’.

After the complaint was made a spokesman for the MET police said: ‘We have been made aware of a post on social media regarding an up-skirting offence and we are currently investigating the circumstances.’

No suggestion is being made that Laurence has committed an offence himself.

After her article in The Times was published, Narinder expressed her feelings about the matter in a series of tweets today, in which she said she felt ‘humiliated.

She wrote: ‘What Laurence Fox did to me was humiliating. Every day is like being assaulted since.’

Adding shortly afterwards: ‘Whether I wear knickers or not is my choice. Whether I have an OF (Only Fans) account or not again – my choice. What isn’t my choice is being upskirted and certain men using that image to humiliate me on their platform.’

There was outrage after Laurence posted the photo which he has deleted having at first stood by his decision to upload it saying: ‘It’s not my fault she forgot to put her pants on’.

Adding: ‘I didn’t take the photo and I didn’t forget to put my pants on. Jog on.’

But many supported Narinder and expressed similar sentiments of shock and outrage.
