Ritchie Edhouse dubbed the ‘best darts participant of all time’ with elegant show

Ritchie Edhouse has been dubbed the ‘greatest darts player of all time’ by fans.

Edhouse, 41, produced the performance of his career from the oche on Sunday (October 27) as he dumped Gary Anderson out of the European Championships in Dortmund. The Flying Scotsman had no answer for Madhouse, who seemed capable of finding any double he pleased.

And as Edhouse enters the first televised semi-final of his career, darts fans have joked he might be the best player of all time thanks to his performance: “Richie Edhouse is putting on an absolute masterclass here!”

“What is going on? Woodhouse, Edhouse and Wattimena in semi finals, who would have ever called that,” a second said. While a third posted: “I love utter nonsense in darts, but Woodhouse, Edhouse, and Wattimena being in the semi’s of a major tournament is where I draw the line I’m afraid…”

“Ritchie Edhouse is a great story in itself it shows the Euro Tours can really be a springboard for success as we seeing this weekend,” a fourth said. And another added: “Nah Edhouse could be the greatest of all time, he’s playing like prime Taylor!”

“I’m on cloud nine at the moment,” Edhouse said ahead of the clash with Anderson. “I’ve got a bit of grit in my game now. I might have rolled over previously, but now I have the belief, and my confidence went up throughout the game.

“I think the sky is the limit if I put the hours in, which I’ve started to do.

“It’s in my hands. I could go as high as I want to. The key is just practice and that’s what I’m doing well right now.”
