One prediction the Simpsons did NOT get proper: Kamala’s election victory over Trump didn’t come to move
The Simpsons has failed to predict the future for the first time ever after Kamala Harris failed in her bid to become President.
The beloved show has long held an eery reputation for forecasting major events – from Donald Trump‘s rise to power, smart watches, the FIFA corruption scandal and even the Hawk Tuah sensation.
And last month, social media hacks latched onto an episode that aired on March 19, 2000, titled Bart to the Future, which they said proved Harris would clinch victory.
‘We all know that the Simpsons has this uncanny ability to predict the future. In an episode, Lisa becomes president and she mainly wears purple suit and pearls, similar to Kamala Harris’s outfit in her vice president inauguration. Coincidence? I THINK NOT,’ one person said.

At President Joe Biden’s inauguration, held on January 20, 2021, Harris was clad in a purple ensemble designed by Christopher John Rogers with Sergio Hudson-designed shoes and a necklace from Wilfredo Rosado.
In the episode Lisa is elected president, she is seen wearing a purple pantsuit and a strand of pearls.
Compounding the coincidences is that Lisa’s presidency comes after an implied presidency from Donald Trump, which caused a massive deficit.
Lisa, as president in the episode, says, ‘As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.’
‘But look at the Simpsons prediction and it said something bout Trump in this year of 2024 and look at Lisa Simpsons became the first female President and it had Kamala Harris also the first President of the United States,’ said a third person.
‘The Simpsons just may predicted our next president,’ a fourth person said.
Liberal voters mourned the gap between the cartoon and the result, after they failed to make the prediction reality.
One sobbed: ‘This is the first time The Simpsons were wrong.’

Another continued: ‘Looks like The Simpsons missed the mark on this one! Kamala Harris didn’t end up as the next president after all.
‘Even the best predictors can’t get it right every time!’
They added: ‘Close but no donut’.
And a third refused to admit defeat, furiously typing: ‘The Simpsons will still be right. Kamala will win in four years and inherit a budget crunch from Trump.’
But not everyone was upset – one victorious Republican posted: ‘People thought Kamala was going to win due to the Simpsons effect.
‘But this time around, Simpsons was wrong. Trump defied all odds.’

Lisa Simpson becomes President of the United States and references the presidency of Donald Trump.
Sixteen years later, Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States, making this one of the most famous predictions from the show, and now speculation mounts about Trump’s current 2024 run.
In the same episode, Homer Simpson can be seen flying past a billboard in the background, which reads: “Trump 2024.” It may be purely coincidence – but this occurred before Trump was ever president.

In the 2012 episode of season 23, titled “Them, Robot,” Homer loses his job at the nuclear plant after his employer Mr. Burns replaces all members of staff with robots.

3. Ebola outbreak
In a scene from the 1997 episode, “Lisa’s Sax,” Marge Simpson can be seen holding a book titled “Curious George and the Ebola Virus.”
Although Ebola was first discovered in 1976, Ebola had its largest outbreak on record in 2014 and 2015, which resulted in over 11,000 deaths across the globe.
4. Smartwatches
In the episode “Lisa’s Wedding,” which aired in 1995, characters are seen using watch-like devices to communicate.
This prediction came true with the advent of smartwatches like the Apple Watch and other wearable tech.
5. The FIFA corruption scandal
In the 2014 episode, “You Don’t Have to Live Like a Referee,” Homer becomes a referee at the World Cup and exposes corruption within the soccer organisation.

6. Disney buying 20th Century Fox
In “When You Dish Upon a Star,” which was aired in 1998, a sign reading “20th Century Fox, a Division of Walt Disney Co.” appears.
Just under a decade later, in 2017, Disney announced its acquisition of 21st Century Fox in a $52.4 billion deal, bringing the eerie prediction to fruition.
7. Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance
In the 2012 episode, “Lisa Goes Gaga,” the Bad Romance singer performs a concert that involved being suspended in the air.
During the Super Bowl LI halftime show in 2017, Lady Gaga made a grand entrance: descending from the stadium roof trapeze-style while singing, mirroring her performance in the animated series.

In the episode “Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson,” aired in 2012, a ticker on a news show reads “Europe puts Greece on eBay.”
Just a few years later, Greece experienced a severe economic crisis that led to austerity measures and bailouts.
12. Richard Branson’s space race
Images of Sir Richard Branson enjoying a spaceflight went viral in 2021 after the businessman, 73, launched himself towards the stars, in a bizarre case of real life imitating art.
The entrepreneur successfully earned his astronaut wings after travelling to the edge of space on board a Virgin Galactic flight, making him the first spaceflight founder to travel to space on his own ship.
Video of the magnate was beamed back to earth as he experienced weightlessness and floated around the cabin of the vessel.
The footage was strangely similar to a scene in a 2014 episode of The Simpsons called The War of Art, from the show’s 25th series.

13.The Hawk Tuah girl
Hailey Welch broke the internet earlier this year after she answered a street interview question from Tim and Dee TV about a technique that will ‘make men go crazy.’
She responded: ‘You gotta give it that HAWK TUAH,’ before spitting and saying, ‘Spit on that thang.’
X users have noticed her technique is similar to one made by Laura, a character on The Simpsons who Bart had a crush on during a Season 4 episode.
The two women have one thing in common – they drive men up the wall by spitting in their hands.
The episode that featured the storyline of Bart’s short-lived crush originally aired in 1992.

Near the end of the episode, Laura and Bart sit on the sidewalk, where she reminds him that she was going to ‘tell his fortune.’
Laura took Bart’s hand and immediately made him smile after she told him he was going to be rich.
Laura then hinted that she could see a mansion with a tennis court in Bart’s future.
However, Bart was nearly speechless after Laura spit on the palm of his hand.
Once she left, Bart stared at the saliva on his hand and said: ‘I will never wash this hand again.’
