Lauren wrote: “It’s crazy there’s so many of us out there that feel guilty for literally eating food.

“Two years ago I was the same, but I’ve dug myself out of that hole and I want to share with you how I’ve done that.

“My main point? Food is fuel. Simple. Food can’t be deemed as healthy and unhealthy anymore. Food is energy.

“Yes, some may hold a few more benefits in terms of its nutritional make-up, but a pizza and salad will both give you energy.”

The fitness coach shared five tips to help people to fix their mindset towards food.

  1. See food for what it is – fuel
  2. Remind yourself how you deserve to be fuelling your body when you start feeling bad about eating
  3. Include foods that make you feel guilty in your diet every day, bring them into your normal routine
  4. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. You’ve got to make changes in your lifestyle to see changes in your mindset
  5. If you’re having a bad food day, eat your comfort foods and maybe by the end of the day you’ll feel ready to have a ‘guilt’ food

Lauren concluded her post by saying that food should be something you look forward to every single day.

She added: “You should feel happy eating, enjoying the foods you love!

“Don’t cut out your favourite foods ever, account for them, enjoy them and appreciate them.”

Since she shared her advice, her post received numerous heartwarming responses, including “you’re so inspirational” and “amazing”.
