Ticketmaster takes particular precaution over Oasis gigs – however followers may nonetheless lose out
Canny Oasis fans aren’t taking any chances on losing all their dosh if the band fails to make it on stage next year – they are splashing out millions of pounds on travel insurance.
Organisers Ticketmaster will refund gig-goers if the long-awaited reunion of the warring Gallagher brothers goes belly-up.
But devotees won’t be covered for hotels, rail and airline tickets they’ve already paid through the nose for bookings.

So, fans across the UK and the globe are forking out on pricey insurance packages just in case Oasis 2025 doesn’t get off the ground.

Noel once said of his brother Liam: “He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
And a fan said on a discussion group on Reddit: “Travel insurance is a must. These guys don’t need an excuse to fall out.”
Another added: “I know sooo many people who are doing this. Totally makes sense. These guys are mad, man.”
Many fans are travelling long distances to gigs – especially those in the US and Australia, and Brit fans are also splashing out to journey to see the Manc siblings overseas.
Meghan Walch, director of product at price comparison site Travel Insurance Quotes, said: “If you’re spending a good deal of money and you’re concerned about protecting that investment, you might want to look at a comprehensive travel insurance plan.”
Some plans offer an optional “cancel for any reason” premium and this reimburses up to 75% of nonrefundable expenses, Walch said. But if people need to cancel, it has to be at least two days before your departure date.

A comprehensive travel insurance plan typically costs between 4% and 10% of a prepaid, nonrefundable trip cost. But adding the “cancel for any reason” premium can bump up the price of a plan by around 40%. Fans are rightly nervous that the concert tour will fall apart before the band steps onstage.
Liam hit Noel with a tambourine during their 1994 tour, and the U.S. leg of their 1996 tour ended early after Liam allegedly wanted to go house hunting.
