Body of ‘confused’ lacking pensioner discovered subsequent to motorway after determined search
In a tragic turn of events, a body has been discovered near a motorway amidst the frantic search for missing pensioner Carole Potts. The 82 year old vanished from her Warrington home, leading to an urgent appeal by officers who suggested she might be ‘confused’.
This morning, Cheshire Police confirmed the grim find close to the M62’s westbound slip road at junction nine. While formal identification is pending, it’s believed to be Carole, and her family has been notified.
Her death isn’t seen as suspicious. Cheshire Police released a statement: “Officers searching for a missing pensioner in Warrington have sadly located a body.”
“Carole Potts was reported missing by her family at 10.30pm on Monday 18 November. Sadly, a body was located earlier today, Tuesday 19 November, near to the westbound slip road of junction 9 of the M62.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, but it is believed to be that of Carole. Her next of kin have been informed”, reports Lancs Live.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner. As a result of the incident the westbound slip road the M62 at junction 9 is currently closed.”
The motorway slip road has now reopened.
