Ruben Amorim already determined which Man Utd flops do not slot in new formation
Ruben Amorim has swiftly identified the Manchester United players who align with his desired style of play, as well as those who don’t.
The newly appointed manager, who joined the fallen Premier League giants last week, has been getting to grips with his squad at Carrington and is reportedly taken aback by the size of the team and the lack of pace and intensity in training sessions.
The ex-Sporting Lisbon chief, known for his impressive track record, has repeatedly urged his players to step up their game as he aims to make a swift impact. Amorim is keen to implement his 3-4-3 system promptly and is said to have already singled out certain players who won’t fit into this formation.

His coaching staff and analysts are working hard to familiarise the players with Amorim’s tactics through drills and demonstrations. Amorim’s managerial debut will be against Ipswich Town on Sunday, where United are anticipated to showcase a fresh approach.
The new boss has emphasised that his unique style will be key in the initial weeks. While some aspects of training and certain players have surprised him, Amorim has also been impressed by the talent within the squad. Despite currently sitting in the lower half of the Premier League following their worst season start ever, United’s position doesn’t accurately reflect the team’s potential, reports the Mirror.

While they’re not yet contenders for the title, massive investments have been poured into Manchester’s squad, and a higher yield is anticipated. Amorim has stepped in and hasn’t minced words in his evaluation of the team and their shortcomings, which span over a decade.
Amorim has bluntly told his United players that they’ve been “living in Sir Alex Ferguson’s shadow” as they grapple to match his triumphs. The last Premier League title was brought home by the Scotsman in 2013, and Amorim feels they haven’t harnessed his spirit as a motivating force.
An insider told the Sun: “He told them that top managers have not replicated Sir Alex’s success because they have lived in his shadow, rather than getting their team to play with his spirit.”
