Snow might properly be on its strategy to elements of the UK with temperatures falling to a freezing -1c

Brace yourselves for the cold as snow is expected to swirl in thanks to some nippy temperatures in the aftermath of Storm Bert.

WXCharts is pointing to a possible snowy surprise on Wednesday, December 4, for folks in Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and County Durham, predicting an overnight sprinkle.

It isn’t just snow that might grace our lands; a vast swath of rain is forecasted to sweep from Cumbria and Lancashire, right down past the Wash, Thames estuary, and into Kent, according to WXCharts’ latest graphics.

Parts of Scottish Highlands are looking at -1C, with Northumbria hitting the big zero, and Edinburgh also shivering at -1C.

Other areas won’t escape the chill, with minimums ranging between 2-7C.

Nevertheless, the Met Office is keeping schtum on the snow talk in their long-range forecast. A spokesperson kept it vague with: “Whether these conditions edge east into other parts of the country is uncertain, but eastern areas especially may well stay drier and colder through the weekend.

“Into December, and while signals are mixed it looks most likely that high pressure may re-assert itself close to or over the UK, with temperatures generally near average.”

The weather expert predicts a return of high pressure during this period, bringing back night frosts. However, some western and northwestern regions could see bouts of rain and stronger winds.
