Seymour told The Times in April 2023 that Green, 76, had proposed to her in the past, but she felt exchanging vows with him ‘would be the most horrible thing in the world’ in terms of the dynamics of their relationship.

She added, ‘I just said I would never put a number on his name.’

Seymour has been wed four times in the past: to Michael Attenborough between 1971 to 1973; Geoffrey Planer between 1977 to 1978; David Flynn, from 1981 to 1992; and James Keach from 1993 to 2015.

She told The Times that despite the divorces, she remained ‘very, very close to all the men I was married to and every man I ever dated.

‘Every time I see someone I used to be involved with, even if it was for a short time, I’m close to them. You see, I think it’s hard to be with somebody who’s well-known and on the red carpet.’

Speaking with People in 2012, Seymour said that the most important lesson she took from her marriages was ‘to let go’ of painful things and ‘try to find a way to communicate and keep what was good in the relationship.’
