Brits are terrified of cattle as new ballot says we discover sheep terrifying

Brits admit they are absolutely terrified – of sheep.

A poll of 2,100 people found 36% were scared stiff by the farm animals. Despite us outnumbering the woolly creatures by two-to-one – with 68million humans to 34m sheep in the UK – many admitted being fearful of them. Brits are also petrified by other mammals worldwide, including kangaroos, hippos, grizzly bears, elephants, tigers and lions.

Craig Brewster, 24, of Watford, Herts, admitted he had a fear of farmyard animals, especially flocks of sheep. He said: “When I was about 10 I went to a petting zoo and a sheep started biting my jumper.

“It kept biting and biting and I couldn’t get it off me, and in the end my dad had to grab the sheep and pull it backwards until it finally let go.

“I’ve never forgotten that moment, and sheep still feature heavily in my nightmares.”

A spokesman for sports tipsters Action Network, which conducted the poll, said that many folk would be scared when “face-to-face” with a sheep.

Sheep aren’t the only farm animal we should be terrified of, after a 17-year-old schoolgirl was mauled to death by pigs.

The tragic incident occurred when Milena Shevelyova was left home alone in charge of the family’s smallholding in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia, while her parents were away in the city.

The teen went to the sty to feed the beasts when she was knocked over by a “large aggressive female pig”, it is believed. She fell and lost consciousness due to the sow’s assault, according to reports. After the initial attack, it appears all the other animals in the sty then went for Milena too.

“All the other pigs attacked her,” said a report from Bad News Telegram channel. “The animals tore her femoral artery and bit her. Milena died from blood loss.”
