Inter Milan and Fiorentina gamers in tears as Edoardo Bove collapses throughout Serie A recreation
Serie A players were left in tears during horrible scenes during Inter Milan’s clash with Fiorentina.
Edoardo Bove, 22, collapsed in the first half of their Serie A clash, prompting players to quickly wave on an ambulance. The match was stopped by referee Daniele Dove in the 15th minute with Bove on the floor after going down untouched.
Bove was transferred into an ambulance on the pitch, with players from both sides seen in tears. Journalist Gabriele Marcotti tweeted: “Awful scenes in Florence. Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch, untouched.
“Paramedics have taken him away. Fiorentina-Inter game suspended, players appear badly shaken. Both teams back in the dressing room.”
The game was suspended and players returned to the dressing room as Bove was transported away from the stadium.
“Respect to Dimarco and Barella who fought urgently for the medics to come on the field as soon as possible. Prayers up for Edoardo Bove, his family and Fiorentina football club,” one fan posted on social media. A second said: “My thoughts and prayers go to Fiorentina player Edoardo Bove.”
“Horrifying scenes. Edoardo Bove has been transported to an ambulance. Players are in tears, hands on their heads, incredibly tough to watch,” a third shared. And another added: “Prayers for Edoardo Bove who was down in the Fiorentina and Inter Milan game today. This is very sad.”
Bove has been a regular for Fiorentina since joining on loan during the summer transfer window. He scored his first Viola goal in October in a 5-1 victory over parent club Roma.
Bove has spent his entire career at Roma, before switching to Tuscany in the summer, emerging through their youth academy.
