Virgil van Dijk fires ‘don’t be concerned’ message over Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool contract

Virgil van Dijk insists doubts over Mohamed Salah‘s future won’t distract Liverpool from their mission to win the title.

Salah is locked in talks with Anfield bosses about a contract extension, but admits he could leave. The Egyptian superstar will be a free agent at the end of this season – and is free to talk to rivals clubs from the start of next month.

Salah dropped a bombshell last month when revealing he hadn’t been offered a new deal. The 32-year-old winger admitted he was closer to leaving Liverpool than staying.

Liverpool fans have urged owners Fenway Sports Group to do whatever it takes to keep Salah. But despite the growing unease surrounding Salah, Van Dijk claims Arne Slot‘s side will not let it affect their chances of going on to be crowned champions this season.

Liverpool have won 15 of their last 16 games in all competitions, and opened up a commanding nine point lead at the top of the table. Salah scored one and set-up a second in Liverpool’s dominating 2-0 win over reigning champions Manchester City on Sunday.
