December horoscope as two star indicators about to ‘expertise surprising success’

While December may feel like the curtain call of the year, the celestial arena has a cosmic twist in store with the Winter Solstice ushering in a fresh start.

In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk courtesy of Slingo, celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman revealed: “December is the month of the Winter Solstice, which takes place when Sagittarius season changes into Capricorn season, on December 21.”

“Both Capricorns and Sagittarians will have quite an exciting month because there are two new moons this month – on the first day, the new moon is in Sagittarius, and on December 30, the new moon is in Capricorn.”

“It means both those signs will experience new beginnings, opportunities galore, and unexpected successes in December. The Winter Solstice day will be important for the fiery sign of Leo, as they are governed by the Sun.”

“On this day, nights become shorter, days grow longer, and the Sun is reborn. From December 21 onwards, Leo will feel stronger, brighter, and more focused.”

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

Sagittarius season is upon us, bringing with it a mixed bag of blessings. While it’s your special time of year with the new moon in Sagittarius ushering in winds of change and potential adventures, Mercury retrograde is also in Sagittarius.

This means that until December 15, you may find your plans changing at the last minute due to the unpredictable nature of Mercury retrograde. But fear not, as your quick thinking could turn these mix-ups into unexpected adventures.

Capricorn season kicks off following the Winter Solstice on December 21. As usual, we’ll see a Capricorn new moon – this year falling on December 30.

Interestingly, this is the second new moon of the month, known as the Black Moon. With new moons symbolising fresh starts, having two in December is quite significant.

The second one, particularly rare and in your sign, presents a unique opportunity for you to embark on something new and exciting. Whether it’s joining a friend for a challenge, co-hosting a podcast, or coming up with a brilliant business idea, the possibilities are endless.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

From December 7, Venus, the planet of love, will enter your sign, Aquarius. This celestial shift is set to bring a wave of romance into your life, whether you’re ready for it or not.

Up until December 15, during Mercury’s retrograde, this could manifest as an ex attempting to reconnect. Post-15th, it could be anyone.

You’ll find yourself in high demand, adored and sought after. Typically, you’re not one for excessive attention, so this surge in romantic interest may not be entirely welcome – channel Venus’ energy into self-love, indulge in self-care and savour some comforting alone time.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

December 9 is a day when dreams are set to become reality. On this date, the moon aligns with Pisces – the moon is associated with illusions and dreams, and you’ll find your life goals taking centre stage.

Adding to this, Neptune, your ruling planet, also aligns with Pisces and moves close to the moon, supercharging its influence. Mars, the planet of courage and drive, forms a favourable angle with the moon, providing you with the strength to achieve your happiest ending.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

From December 6 to January 6, Mars is in retrograde in Leo. As an Aries, this will significantly affect you due to Mars being your ruling planet.

You’re a fiery and energetic sign, and Mars is a fiery planet, so it’s easy to see the connection – when Mars is in retrograde, your limitless energy takes a hit. You’ll find yourself tiring earlier and unable to engage in arguments.

This retrograde occurs in proud Leo, causing you some concern about others noticing your decreased energy. However, Leo is excellent at maintaining appearances, allowing you to rest while still seeming lively.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

Venus, the planet of love, is your ruling planet and it transitions through two zodiac signs in December.

Until December 7, it resides in the practical sign of Capricorn, making you feel grounded, focused, and business-oriented. You might be considering a promotion or a career change.

After December 7, Venus moves into the kind and thoughtful sign of Aquarius. During this period, you’ll feel a desire to assist others and may take up volunteering for those in need, perhaps in a soup kitchen or bringing joy to children spending the festive season in hospital.

Gemini (May 21 to June 21)

This month’s Mercury retrograde is set to hit party-goers hard. As Mercury is your ruling planet, its retrograde phase often leads to increased misunderstandings and awkward situations.

Particularly for those who love a good party, these uncomfortable moments are likely to occur in public. Despite feeling ‘meh’, remember your charm and how you can light up any room.

This Mercury retrograde is in Sagittarius, a sign known for its love of adventure and travel; so be prepared for potential hiccups on trips and always have a plan B. .

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

This month will feel particularly special for you as the Moon is your ruling planet. The rare occurrence of two new moons in one month is happening; with a new moon in Sagittarius at the start of the month and another in Capricorn on December 30.

New moons symbolise new opportunities, so you might find yourself turning over a new leaf twice this month – perhaps through two interviews for a desired role or two meetings with someone who could positively impact your life. Keep embracing opportunities.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

This December, Leo, you might feel a bit subdued for two reasons. Firstly, every December leads up to the shortest day of the year, the Winter Solstice on December 21.

As your ruling planet is the Sun, you’re solar-powered, meaning shorter days can leave you feeling somewhat deflated. Additionally, from December 6, Mars, the fiery planet of courage and strength, goes retrograde in Leo, which could affect your energy levels.

Prepare for a more low-key December and only accept the most enticing festive invites, making sure to avoid those who sap your energy.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

As Mercury is your ruling planet, you often experience the effects of each Mercury retrograde quite intensely. When this communication-governing planet goes retrograde, your meticulously planned day can become much more spontaneous.

With this Mercury retrograde occurring in adventurous Sagittarius, expect these spontaneous moments to be even more extreme. A simple errand to buy milk could transform into a trip to an amusement park, or a phone call to relatives could find them amidst a snowstorm.

Brace yourself for surprises until December 15, when the Mercury retrograde ends.

Libra (September 23 to October 22)

Libra, you’re a sign that craves balance and harmony. A touch of this, a smidge of that – never too much.

This month, you’ve got a delightful mix of work and play. Until December 7, your ruling planet Venus is in the business-oriented Capricorn, so you’re all about work and career.

Then, the planet shifts to the altruistic Aquarius, an air sign like yourself. This means as the festive season approaches, you’ll be considering others and looking to give and assist wherever possible.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

You’re one of the rare signs with two ruling planets. Scorpio’s traditional ruler is the fiery Mars, which reflects your intense nature, heightened temperament, passion, and enthusiasm for life.

Your modern ruler is Pluto, the planet of rebirth, aligning with your love for transformation and adaptability. Throughout December, these two planets are in opposition, each on opposite sides of the sky.

Mars is in the fiery Leo, and Pluto is in the individualistic Aquarius, making you a combination of two opposites all month. On one side, you want to be the centre of attention at every party; on the other, you desire solitude or volunteering at a dog shelter.

When you question, ‘which one am I?’, remember it’s perfectly fine to be both.
